Information for Participating Schools from Violet Harris
Dear Colleagues:
I hope that the school year is off to a great start and look forward to our continued collaborations.
The Youth Literature Festival will feature 20 plus authors and illustrators. These are well known individuals, for example, Ashley Bryan, Robert Lipsyte, Francisco Jimenez, who will visit Champaign schools over two days - October 2-3. Each school will receive a visit from an author or illustrator.
We need you to inform your principals, librarians, and teachers that the author and illustrator visits are forthcoming and that we urge them to share their work with students. If they wish to have additional information about the specific author or illustrator assigned to a specific school, then they can email me at vjharris@uiuc.edu or call my direct line, 244-3575.
